Long Over Due Update

The boys are doing pretty well with their battle with para-influenza. This will be about a three week long battle I am told by their doctor. I am doing everything I can here to keep them comfortable and (it feels like a rainforest in our house!) from the humidifier.

Nathaniel is going in for surgery tomorrow @ 6:30 am for the placement of permanent tubes. Hopefully these will last for at least a couple years. As for now he is sleeping peacefully and is not worried about a thing! You would think as many times as he has been through this that he knows exactly what to do. I do have someone coming over to watch Josiah in the morning. He will probably sleep the whole time we are gone and then a couple hours after we get back.

One thing I have learned lately is that in our trials that is when God prunes us and teaches us the most. I have learned some really cool amazing things about myself, my family and about God this year. I am so in AWE of how God carries through each situation. One day at a time because that is all I can handle....HE does the rest.

Amazingly, I am not stressed, and I am not upset, nor worried. I am at peace knowing He is in control. I have come to the unique understanding I am not in control. Sin converted in the world in which we live. Although Jesus sets us free, we still have to understand that there are many people who make choices that have a ripple affect to those around them because of the choices they make in their life. I am glad I have been able to come to this unique understanding at such a young age because I think this helps me to grasp the concept of forgiveness.

This deployment has given me the such a wonderful opportunity to really grasp the concept of forgiveness and strive to walk more like Jesus every day. While I have see my relationship grow and blossom. As I grow closer to Him during especially during this time, I have also seen that there have been changes in my life and the lives around me. There are challenges with this because now I am choosing to stand firm.  I stand firm and committed to Christ even when I face challenges I will not back down from where I stand... for He is my Rock!

Praise God for giving me such an amazing husband that is such a perfect piece of the puzzle to our family and he still fits right in to our daily life while in Afghanistan just right!  As I see our lives unfold I can see how right we are for each other in every way. Every day we seem to fit together better and seem to form a better stronger bond. A marriage including Jesus has no exchanges or refunds! There is only one model and one guide: follow Christ as your guide and read His word and let his Word be your model for your marriage. This has been a major part of change in our marriage over the last 10 1/2 years.

Proverbs 12:4: "A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones."

Many Blessings,
